Last month UDMC we given the task of dredging underneath the Al Reem Bridge, this allowed the installed Culverts on a parallel causeway constructed by NMDC to flow and remove stagnant water near Abu Dhabi Sea Palace area. The complex and area sensitive project required a specialized pontoon and gantry crane to be assembled to avoid and contact with the underside of the bridge above. The other major challenge was removing an area of compressed rock and reef forming 500mm of cap rock with an SPT35+. After technical glitches delayed to start of the project Union Dredgers moved to double shifts to satisfy the client and finish on schedule.
